LOVE LIKE CRAZY - LEE BRICE

LINK TO VIDEO^^

"Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice is about beating the odds. Like getting married too young, living paycheck to paycheck and trusting that with hard work and love that everything will work out.

In the instance of this song the young couple do beat the odds and live happily ever after.

Obviously if this was a common occurrence they wouldn't call it "beating the odds". However, I strongly believe that no one gets lucky by having a lasting relationship or becoming rich. Both of those things take hard work and dedication.

To me this song is about figuring out what you want, not hesitating when you find it and working your ass off to keep it and help it grow into something wonderful.

So find what you love and make it last. Whether that is a sport, subject, art or a person work hard to maintain it because not everyone is as lucky to have that as you are.

"Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice was released on June 8th 2010

IF I DIDN'T KNOW BETTER - NASHVILLE

LINK TO VIDEO^^

"If I Didn't Know Better" was performed and made known on the show Nashville. Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio sang this as a duet in pilot episode.

While I found this song on a country show it is definitely not country. It is originally written and performed by the Civil Wars in 2010, who were basically unknown until the premier of Nashville 3 weeks ago.

This song has an eerie sound and feel to it. It is very slow, yet captivating. The luring voices of both Clare and Sam along with the old blues cafe feel make it almost impossible not to love.

Also, in the show this song (true to its sound) was played in a cafe during open mike night.

If you like Indie type music you will really like this song, take a listen.

RED - TAYLOR SWIFT

LINK TO VIDEO^^

"Red" by Taylor Swift is addicting and catchy, just like most of her songs.

However this song is unique because of her comparisons of feelings to actions and colour.

What I really like about this song is that while her story doesn't have a happy ending or the classic "they lived happily ever after" it also isn't a sad or angry song.

This song relates to the ups and downs, uncertainty and magic that comes along with falling in love with someone. To me this song is about how much you can learn from someone special in your life. Just because something ends does not mean that is a bad thing or that they didn't help you reach the next level of your life.

BECAUSE

"Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you.
Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favourite song."

Living, learning and experiencing things with other people helps you live, learn and experience in ways you could have never achieved by yourself.

Listen to Tswizzles new album. Live, learn, and experience with her and through her lyrics. I promise that you will be able to relate.

"Red" by Taylor Swift was released on Oct. 22nd 2012

TATTOOS ON THIS TOWN - JASON ALDEAN

LINK TO VIDEO

"Tattoos On This Town" by Jason Aldean is really a sad love story about two teenagers who fall in love. The song takes you through the summer they fell in love and their lives later through life.

The tattoos on the town are all the marks that they left during their journey. Such as a broken mail box, a swing rope burn on a tree, carvings of their enitials or even a "Ally will you marry me?" sign on an overpass.

Their story ends when he goes off to war for his country because he ends up passing away while over seas.

I really like this song, not because I can relate to that type of tradegy (which is far too common, especially in the US) but because so many other people can. This song highlights the fact that everything we do leaves its own mark on the world along with how every decision can completely change our future.

Which is so cool! Yet terrifying at the same time.

So make those decisions and mess up sometimes, but remember that you can always get back on track with your next one.

"Tattoos On This Town" was released on April 4th 2011.

BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD - RASCAL FLATTS

LINK TO VIDEO ^^

"Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts is a song that anyone can connect to.

It is a song about how every "long lost dream" can lead you to something better and the next chapter of your life. The main focus of this song is about using your past as a tool to live, love and learn in order to prepare you for the wonderful things in life.

Without the bad there is no way that we could truly appreciate the good in life which is why Rascal Flatts wants you to "Bless The Broken Road".

"Bless The Broken Road" was released on October 29th 2002

At the time it was their longest lasting Number 1 song by being at the top for 5 consecutive weeks.

SERIOUSLY, give this song a listen to! You will find so many different lyrics that will connect to your life which will give you a unique and personal interpretation of the song.

BLOWN AWAY - CARRIE UNDERWOOD

LINK TO VIDEO

"Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood is an extremely sad and powerful song.

Throughout the song the lyrics descibe a massive storm that is a metaphor for the terrible things that are happening in a young girls life.

When Carrie connects the lyrics through images of the storm and then events from the house it creates a powerful image/feeling for the listener. This occurs during lyrics such as:

"There's not enough rain in Oklahoma, To wash the sins out of that house"

"Every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away"

This song tells the sad story which is a much too common reality in the lives of many people throughout the world. Where one parent is dead and the other becomes an alcoholic in order to cope with the grief.

I really like this song because it promotes awareness for these issues as well as makes you feel some of the sadness that the people who live in these situations must feel.

"Blown Away" was released on May 1st 2012.

Carrie felt so strongly about this song that she made it the title of her fourth album as well as the name of her next tour. She has a tour stop in Toronto on Dec. 9th BE THERE.

If anyone has anyway to get me tickets to her concert I would not object... hint... hint

DRUNK ON YOU - LUKE BRYAN

LINK TO VIDEO^^^

"Drunk On You" by Luke Bryan was the song of the summer. It is about love, lust and partying, a young adult's dream summer.

This song is deceivingly slow with Luke Bryan's sultry steady voice leading the way. However, the upbeat guitar and drums along with the catchy chorus keeps the listener enthralled and engaged by the song.

"Drunk On You" is the perfect road trip song, especially while driving through the back roads.

This song was released with Luke's album Tailgates and Tanlines in August of 2011 but it did not become popular until this summer (2012).

Another reason I found "Drunk On You" intriguing was the music video. This video is the continuation of another one of Luke's songs, "I Don't Want This Night To End".

Both songs involve the same girl who Luke spends an unforgettable night with but has no idea where she lives. He promises her that he will leave a ticket for her at everyone of his concerts and travels around the US until he finally sees her again in Texas.

This story line adds another component and attraction to already amazing songs. While I love the song "Drunk On You" it was the video and search for the continuation of his first song that led me to find it.

What was your song of the summer? It better have been "Drunk On You", if it wasn't make it your fall song... It is so good it deserves its own season.

WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER - TAYLOR SWIFT

  LINK TO VIDEO ^^^^

The song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift isn't her typical break-up song where the guy broke her heart and now you have to pick up the pieces. This song is about an independent woman who realized the problem with her relationship and did something about it.

Personally, i think that this song shows an immense level of maturity for Taylor as both an artist and person.

I am only a few years younger than TSwizzle and have been listening to her music since she started her career in 2006. Like most artists Taylor writes her songs as they apply to her life; conveniently her stages of life have corresponded with my own. Because of this I feel like myself -along with millions of fans across the world- have been able to grow and mature over the years with Taylor and her music.

Her newest song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was released on August 13th 2012 and has had over 18 million views on youtube since then.

While the video has many views, the big question is "who is it about?"

Taylor is infamous for mercilessly composing songs about her abundant number of boyfriends and breakups that she has had throughout the years. The biggest questions that have revolved around her songs have been "Who are they about?".

Even with the large amount of speculation and media pressures Taylor has stayed true to herself and kept her muses names incognito. For now.

Personally my favourite line of her latest song was, "He calls me up and is like "I still love you" and I'm like this is exhausting you know. Like we are never ever getting back together. Like ever."

I love this line because it is so final. It proves not only Taylor's strength but the strength of both the men and women everywhere who are able to get out of a bad relationship even when your significant other isn't able to.

Take notes, you can do it! The only bum you want to have to carry around is your own. Get rid of that dead weight and find someone who looks at you like it is the first time, every time.
