WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER - TAYLOR SWIFT

  LINK TO VIDEO ^^^^

The song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift isn't her typical break-up song where the guy broke her heart and now you have to pick up the pieces. This song is about an independent woman who realized the problem with her relationship and did something about it.

Personally, i think that this song shows an immense level of maturity for Taylor as both an artist and person.

I am only a few years younger than TSwizzle and have been listening to her music since she started her career in 2006. Like most artists Taylor writes her songs as they apply to her life; conveniently her stages of life have corresponded with my own. Because of this I feel like myself -along with millions of fans across the world- have been able to grow and mature over the years with Taylor and her music.

Her newest song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was released on August 13th 2012 and has had over 18 million views on youtube since then.

While the video has many views, the big question is "who is it about?"

Taylor is infamous for mercilessly composing songs about her abundant number of boyfriends and breakups that she has had throughout the years. The biggest questions that have revolved around her songs have been "Who are they about?".

Even with the large amount of speculation and media pressures Taylor has stayed true to herself and kept her muses names incognito. For now.

Personally my favourite line of her latest song was, "He calls me up and is like "I still love you" and I'm like this is exhausting you know. Like we are never ever getting back together. Like ever."

I love this line because it is so final. It proves not only Taylor's strength but the strength of both the men and women everywhere who are able to get out of a bad relationship even when your significant other isn't able to.

Take notes, you can do it! The only bum you want to have to carry around is your own. Get rid of that dead weight and find someone who looks at you like it is the first time, every time.

  1. I agree! I've heard the new songs she's released and in my opinion they're all so much more mature in both the lyrics and the actual music than her other albums. It's such an awesome breakup song too, because it doesn't let you sit around and be sad about a guy. Great post!

  2. As a mother of young girls, I am so relieved that there is a talented artist out there like Taylor Swift who can share her experiences in a non-dramatic, mature and insightful way. No DUIs, no scandal, just her - a great message to people young women who want more than vacuous attention.

  3. I love this song so much but I wish she took a more acoustic route.
I'm all for her trying something new but I'm hoping her new album stays true to what I know and love about her.
